The Bachelor of Science (Advanced Science Program) gives students the opportunity to work together on group projects and gain early experience in research and research management. Opportunities are provided for a range of industrial placements, as well as political and governmental agency internships. High-performing science students will find the program a challenging and rewarding experience, with the option of fast-tracking to complete your Honours degree in three and a half years. Level 2 and 3 In levels 2 and 3, you will complete at least one science major from those below: Anatomy and human biology, Anthropology, Applied mathematics, Archaeology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Botany, Cell physiology, Chemical physics, Chemistry, Computer science, Conservation biology, Environmental chemistry, Environmental geoscience, Environmental management, Environmental microbiology, Genetics, Geography, Geology, Human movement and exercise science, Information technology applications, Information technology systems, Land and water management, Linguistics, Marine and coastal management, Marine biology, Materials chemistry, Mathematical sciences, Mathematical statistics, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physics, Physiology, Psychology, Pure mathematics, Soil science, Zoology.
You will also complete a research project and a placement in a University overseas.
To continue the program and to qualify for the award you must achieve a weighted average of at least 80% at level 1 and 2, and 75% at level 3. The degree is awarded with Honours, which you complete in your fourth year (enriched program).
The accelerated program allows you to complete the degree (including Honours) in 3.5 years, in selected majors.

Entry
You must meet the normal entry requirements for the University of Western Australia. Entry is competitive.
Prerequisites: All courses at UWA: TEE English or TEE English Literature (or ESL for eligible students)
Bachelor of Science (Advanced Science Program): any TEE mathematics (students with Discrete Mathematics will be required to study an additional Level 1 maths unit). TER of 98.00 or above with a final scaled mark of 85% or more in all science subjects, including at least one mathematics subject Some science majors may require additional prerequisites.
